Hotel:

Breakfast is included in the hotel price. For half or full board you can make an arrangement with the SAS's Staff or directly with the hotel the day of your arrival. Categories

Apartment:

Most apartments are located in the colonial center and Gazcue erea, just a short distance from the school. Students normally rent private rooms and share a communal kitchen and bathrooms with other students.

These apartments are fully equipped. You share your apartment with other international students and/or with Spanish students. You will have your own room, or share a room, if you prefer. You will share the kitchen, bathroom and living room with the other students in the apartment. These shared apartments provide basic but very reasonably priced student accommodation.

A shared apartment gives you the opportunity to live with foreign, and/or native, students in a friendly and independent environment. Just remember that you may have to make an effort to practise the language outside class! Apartments are located within walking distance, or a short bus ride, of the school.

You stay in a single room, or double room if travelling with a friend, and share the kitchen, bathroom and living area with the other students. A deposit may be required upon arrival, and bed linen is provided but towels are not. Please remember that apartments abroad, and especially those in Europe, may not be of the same standard as in your home country: they are clean but they can be small and basic. Please also note that shared apartments fill up quickly during the summer, when there tends to be a higher number of younger students.

Note:
Please note that a $100 deposit is required at the start of your stay and will be given back to you at the end of your stay when you hand in the keys, as long as no damage has been made to the apartment.

Families:

Students may choose to live either with an individual or a Dominican family during their stay. Although the families may be located throughout the city, accommodations of this sort are always comfortable and situated as close as possible to the language school. All families are chosen through a rigorous selection process, and housing conditions are periodically checked by the SAS's staff, which is always available to handle any problem that may arise.

Host families are carefully vetted by our institution. In addition, all our students complete confidential student questionnaires, which we then use to ensure, as far as possible, that students of ours are placed only in families in which previous students have been happy. A 'host family' can be a married couple or a single person, with or without children. If a student is unhappy in a host family, they will be moved, without question.

Please note that accommodation is normally available from the Sunday before your Spanish course starts until the Saturday after it finishes. If you need to move into your accommodation a day or two earlier or leave a day later, this can often be arranged, though you will be charged for the extra days.
