Every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, instead of meeting in a classroom, all program participants are

invited on historical/cultural excursions, with all transportation included, to a wide variety of local attractions.

  • We'll tour the Zona Colonial of Santo Domingo (the oldest European city in the Americas)
  • The Santo Domingo Botanical Gardens (ranked among the best 10 in the world)
  • The Columbus Lighthouse
  • The National Aquarium

  • The cave of Las Maravillas with its thousands of ancient Taíno drawings
  • La Caleta's ancient Taíno cemetery
  • The ruins of a 16th-century sugar plantation

The Dominican Republic has a such a variety of beautiful things and places to see! Verdant mountains, lush

valleys, rain forests, cascading waterfalls, crystalline rivers, salt lakes, deserts with rare blooming flowers,

ancient ruins, and modern mansions. There's so much more to see than just our gorgeous beaches--though

they sure are gorgeous, aren't they!
